Massage Descriptions

Therapeutic Restorative Massage

This massage is performed on a heated massage table using a technique of rhythmic strokes designed to warm up the body’s tissues and soften the mind. This gentle warming up of the skin, allows a blend of relaxation massage, modified deep tissue massage and movement, while staying light enough for a restorative feeling. The focus is on restoring balance to the whole person for a whole body connection, facilitating healing of body & mind. Barb adjusts the massage focus to suit the clients needs (lymphatic drainage, circulation and so forth). This massage is simply magical as it is physically, mentally and energetically balancing.

Deep Tissue Release Massage

This massage uses deep tissue techniques to release tension and tackle problem areas while still feeling a soft release through the entire body. Barb is intuitive and can read the needs of her clients, pinpointing areas that need extra attention while still incorporating a release everywhere. By using all levels of pressure she is able to work into the superficial tissues and gently get into the deep tissue without leaving you feeling uncomfortable. Barb incorporates deep, slow rythmic strokes to apply sustained and varying amounts of pressure to target your musculoskeletal system, decreasing stress, pain, stiffness and tension .

Mind Body Energy Connection: Massage with Reiki

Coupling Reiki with massage allows the treatment to be full circle and all encompassing, giving attention to both the tissues and energy levels. This combination unblocks tension throughout our whole bodies, allowing clients to leave with an added dimension of balance and sense of wellbeing. Reiki is a non-invasive energy therapy and is a great addition to a massage as it seeks to clear and balance the body’s energy pathways and increase its ability to heal itself. There are 7 main chakras in the body – each one represents a physical, emotional and energetic portion of ourselves and sends energy to the nearby organs, bones and tissues.Reiki can lessen fatigue, anxiety, improve circulation, soothe headaches, aid with sleep and reduction of pain. You will Massage with Reiki is a blissful combination allowing you to experience a most comforting, relaxing and peaceful feeling often for days and months afterwards.

Holistic Massage (with Taylor, myomassologist, no receipts provided)

Myomassology is a multi-modality approach blending Swedish massage techniques and clinical therapeutic methods. It incorporates a technique called Contraction Release therapy, which can release tight muscles and help to normalize the spine and pelvic tilt to reduce pain and increase overall body function. During a treatment each session involves a leg and pelvic alignment test to see the state of a client’s current movement patterns and overall alignment. Myomassology also incorporates the use of their modalities such as acupressure, reflexology, Indian head massage, cranio sacral therapy, fire cupping & tui na.**Please note: Receipts are not provided for this treatment, as it does not fall within the categories recognized by extended health insurance providers.

Reflexology Description: (with Taylor)

We are offering Reflexology this summer every Thursday on the Forest Plank with Taylor. $110 per session, 60 minutes.

Reflexology is an ancient form of healing that predates acupuncture in Traditional Chinese Medicine and is widely used for natural stress relief and overall wellness. Each foot contains a detailed map of the human body, with reflex pressure points that correspond to all body parts and organ systems. Stimulating these points helps bring balance and homeostasis to the body. The application of pressure to specific points on the feet encourages the release of “feel-good” hormones such as endorphins, serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin. These hormones have a calming, pain-relieving effect on the nervous system, allowing the body to relax, reduce stress, and restore balance naturally

Head, Scalp & Face Renewal Massage (with Rachelle - no receipts provided)

Discover the restorative benefits of treating the areas we often neglect most. The head and scalp contain one of the body's highest concentrations of sensory nerve endings, making them exceptionally responsive to therapeutic touch—yet they are frequently overlooked. This luxurious treatment combines parts of a relaxing Indian Head Massage with specialised facial massage and sculpting techniques that target the muscles, fascia, and circulation of the face. Rather than focusing on skincare, the emphasis is on releasing tension, reducing facial tightness, enhancing natural contours, and promoting a refreshed, lifted appearance.

Natural tools, including Gua Sha stones and heated massage stones, are incorporated to further enhance relaxation and stimulate circulation. A small amount of organic, natural oil is applied to the scalp and face unless otherwise requested. A truly unique experience, designed to leave you feeling restored and renewed. **Please note: Receipts are not provided for this treatment, as it does not fall within the categories recognized by extended health insurance providers.
